New Book Jacket Copy!

Person standing under stone arches looking at full moon over ocean at night

Last August I cranked out the first draft of my novel, Bloozed (working title), after almost a year of planning. Even with all of that, though, I’ve spent the last many months diving deeper into the world, characters, and backstories that I’ve created.

I’m excited to share my updated Book Jacket Copy now! It feels so much better than the previous version… which you never saw, but trust me!

Would you read this book? Why or why not?

The year is 2259. Humans have been forced to live at night, within semi-enclosed cities called Arcs, for protection from the elements and the environmental destruction rendered by our own hands. A glimmer of hope is revealed with the announcement of a Lottery for 100,000 lucky souls to win a one-way ticket to another habitable planet, Kāne. Before the relocation launches are complete, though, 2% of Earth’s population is mysteriously turned into puddles of blue goo in an instant. Rumors abound that an alien species was responsible for what is coined the Bloozing.

It is in this world that Naia, a quiet anthropologist, the local Story Collector within Arc Solace (aka Soulless), must find her inner strength to pursue her goal of helping create a better Earth, despite the safety of her pod having been decimated. One dead, one missing, one unreliable, and the last possibly involved with the Bloozing. Will her skills of observation and semi-telepathic abilities help her decide who she can trust or not, and piece together the truth of the Bloozing and the Lottery and help save the Earth?

Bloozed is a post-apocalyptic story for climate-conscious readers who admire strong female leads and support alternative ways of life, communication, and love. It reminds us that even when everything seems lost, the world – and we – have the power to heal and begin again.
