About Tella

Tella Artlauf

I am a writer living in Colorado, USA (who dreams of living by a beach). I started life as a small-town Florida girl whose first job was at a record store, when such things still existed. I worked at two Blockbusters (Video AND Music!) and as a waitress through college, then worked my way up to an NYC music label finance executive position before age 30. I have worked as everything from a hiking guide and planetarium operator to a VP of Finance, fractional CFO, and now, finally, a reiki practitioner.

Some of the accolades I am most proud of in life include, but are not limited to: having my essay on “yellow” published in a county-wide magazine in 7th grade, earning 1st chair euphonium in Concert Band my sophomore year of college, being called “like, not an annoying rock chick” by Alice in Chains when I met them in my 20s, embarrassing my tween-twin girls, surviving (and enjoying!) Tomorrowland Belgium 2023, and the peaceful look of a client just after a reiki session.

Through it all I have loved writing and I enjoy translating life and ideas into stories. I have finally decided that being an author sounds infinitely more fun than managing other people’s money. So here we are.
